It wasn't a literal comparison to spyware, just that it was really difficult to remove 100%. The uninstall programs/features didn't work, its own uninstall didn't work, and it continued to overwrite drivers every time I plugged some controllers in. If you haven't had any issues with Motioninjoy, thus no reason to remove it, you wouldn't have the same issues I did. It messed up the Cobalt Flux DDR pads I have pretty bad. :(

I use a PS3 controller but I forgot what exactly I did, after removing Motioninjoy, to get it to work on windows.

Thanks Maximz for the tips! I'll try that out. Didn't even know the PS3 controller worked on a PC. Great tip!

ugh man....i really thought u got a spyware from it >_< lol well i wasnt gonna remove mine because like u said no need to remove it if there is no issues. thats rather unfortunate that the uninstaller was crappy for you. but your definitely not the only one to have the problems im reading alot bout it but its seems to be the more recent versions where people have issues, where as the old versions seem to be fine i guess =/

i figure my other links will provide as an alternative method for anyone else so no one has to risk the newer versions of motioninjoy PLUS the interface is trash i wish i knew these methods before ....but meh now its like why bother it works... XD

on a side note YOU HAD METAL DDR PADS!? im jealous! fawk i used to play DDR alot but my one friend was heavy footed! and i had the mats that came with the game and he messed up like 3 pads! 2 of mine 1 of his and it was like FAWKKKKKKK get out of my house! now i have 1 and he doesnt play on it anymore but now i also dont play DDR as much >_< im envious of u for having the metal DDR pads

@Nathan no prob man if my methods dont work just look it up there is ALOT of ways to do it!

I still have my DDR pads :3 I ran the DDR Club at my undergrad university for years! Bodie was a frequent player, too <3 Usually my dance partner. I'm "out of shape" now, but I could play about 8-foot songs, and a few 9-foot if I was feeling good.

I actually used those foam-insert pads for the club initially. However, at a club... they get a lot of use. It doesn't matter if your friends have the footsteps of tiny snowflake fairies, your pad will begin to disintegrate after about a month. After duct-taping it into oblivion, I actually got the school to pay for Colbalt Flux DDR pads for the club. However, those were the property of the school, so they didn't come with me when I graduated. I got some new metal pads when I moved as a birthday present <3

I used stepmania, actually, and "wrote" several step files for songs. .... MIGHT be planning on making a step file or two to some of Timespinner's songs!

bodie dancing!? ahaha that sounds like a good show~

But WOWWWWW you did almost the same as what i did (i dont remember how difficult the songs i played were your songs are prolly harder LOL) during my highschool years! in highschool i used to play DDR alot i would go to the arcade and play and i tried to go for some pretty hard songs, but i would stay away from songs like legend of max i found that to be stupidly crazy, i had a "anime" club in highschool every weekend there was anime show viewings in one room, video games and yugioh cards games in the other, i was actually in charge of the video games.

i had the school pay for the DDR pads for the club which was the same as u said Foam inserts but it pretty much died after a month we used the large clear tape all though the bottom of the mats had this material (im name for it lol) that is supposed to prevent it from slipping but it didnt help much. one of my favorite songs was Senorita Speed Mix and i played that on the hardest difficulty, it took me sooooooooo long to get it but when i did i was extremely happy!

yeaaaa see my pads that i say my friend messed up....died THAT DAY like i had them for less then a week. he would come over play DDR and after that day i would try to play the very next day only to find them broken....this kid was playing all the really fast legend of max, revenge max or w/e and failing them. like i think one of the pads had a ripped circuit after he used it LOL i was just ugh ..after the third mat i gave up and told him no more! my new pad has lasted over 2 years (but also doesnt see constant every day use).

still jealous you have metal pads though ><

a friend of mine in college did the same he wrote stepfiles for songs in stepmania, ....alltho his would sometime match the beat but other times ehhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh not really, he would have what i call gallop steps where they are supposed to be jumps but instead its just a quick 1-2 step because, he didnt bother to properly go into the editor to edit the steps. he would just listen to the song and make the steps, relisten and delete or add steps that seemed out of place to him (i think i still have em if you wanna try em out). and it was just a huge mess...mind you these are steps only for keyboard not pad because.

also that would be awesome if you do that for the timespinner songs i would love to see your step work

I love *true* gallops, like in Cowgirl on heavy. Bad steps and keyboard steps don't really interest me, because I played DDR for the exercise... so it needs to be well thought out to be playable by feetsies.

I'll definitely post the steps on this forum if I make any, though!

What an interesting coincidence, I make a thread and it turns into Stepmania discussion. I used to play Stepmania / FFR (still play Stepmania but very infrequently) for a long while. I got scary good on keyboard, but I stopped playing and got out of practice when I joined the military.

To be honest, I probably wouldn't be able to stand it if it's too slow. Not trying to be offensive, I'm sure it's great, but yeah. lol
