Button configurations.

Postby Mikara » Sun Aug 03, 2014 3:04 pm

I know this is generally something that can be overlooked, but I was wanting to make sure that there were plans to be able to customize and set your own inputs. Nothing irks me more when I go to play a game for the first time and there is no way to switch the inputs to something that I find comfortable.

yes, this please. As I glare angrily at 90% of Nintendo's 3DS stuff. No Nintendo, the A button is too far away from B to use both comfortably! Use the SNES style and just let us use Y and B! GRAH! *rant over*

To be honest, I can't think of a game that I bothered rebinding keys for in the last decade. Maybe I'm weird.

while some majority of games now allow you to setup your control scheme some dont...i cant exactly name any off the top of my head... i would like to say that i would like it if this had a similar (or same) setup as shovel knights control configuration because it allowed me to setup my ps3 controller within the game rather than having to open up Xpadder or joytokey

i normally like to play my games with my ps3 controller on PC using the motion joy drivers (all though i think mine is a little out of date....but still works) so not having to rely on xpadder and joytokey to assign buttons to the ps3 controller is always a plus in my book

Totally agree. Y and B all the way! :)

Anyone have any tips on good 2D game controllers for the PC/Mac by the way? I now use the X-Box 360 controller for games like Shovel Knight, but would really like a controller where the D-pad doesn't suck as much as the one from the X-Box 360 controller. Controlling 2D games with that thing is a punishment.

I would stay away from Motioninjoy, myself. It messed up some other controllers I own and it was spyware-levels of impossible to uninstall completely.

@LlamaGirl im not exactly sure where you got it from but, it has never messed up ANY controllers for me, nor does mine have ANY spyware me and a group of friends all run it and have all done scans on it before installing it...maybe the newer versions have this problem but i know for a fact mine does not (i've had it for like ...4 yrs now >.> ) ...it really depends on where you got it from, because you are the first person i've ever heard that had that problem

Edit: yea it seems to be a thing with the newer one http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=510044
cause none of whats said here has ever happened to me or my friends we never even have to be online to use it we use it while offline no ad's or anything =/

Edit#2: ...yea sorry keep reading up on stuff since LlamaGirl brought it up i was searching for alternate way to run a ps3 controller for other users that doesn't involve motioninjoy and heres what i came up with
http://forums.pcsx2.net/Thread-PS3-Cont ... indows-2-0

Edit#3: darn it now you have me looking into every single alternative way for ps3 controllers LOL you can also use the xbox360 drivers and trick the computer into thinking the ps3 controller is a xbox360 controller this is considered the scarlet crush drivers i believe http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?p=59385385

you can also use XInput which is this.........orrrrrrr you know these could be the same thing...gawd its so hard to figure out because they look like two different processes but w/e EITHER WAY ...if the neogaf doesnt help ya this should....
