Don't forget iOS (iPhones/tablets), although I prefer the SNES version personally with emulator on a computer.

Eh... I'm okay with forgetting mobile ports. I also would encourage everyone to purchase a legitimate copy of the game before emulating it. We won't get Chrono Break greenlit if no one buys the old games. :P

The game on iOS plays better then the version released on PS1. I'd much rather forget the PS version...

Speaking of which, and this is getting totally off-topic for the thread, but I feel like Square-Enix's iOS ports have been getting better and better. They recently just updated the Secret of Mana release for iOS with high res graphics, updated touch controls, and support for MFi (made for iPhone) game controllers. I tried it with mine, and it works great. Much easier than hooking up the SNES :D

Without carrying around a dedicated controller, touchscreen controls are about the most horrible thing I've ever experienced in a lifetime of gaming.

How about upon starting NG+, you encounter yourself from the first play-through, causing a paradox of sorts and an explosion, thus disrupting the world. Areas that were just easy to walk through, now have obstacles in their way. Perhaps some dangerous terrain (lava) where you need to really work your jump skills, or grappling skills, in order to get by. Could add a few distorted areas, new areas, as previously mentioned, supplying new Time Pieces, needed to get by or even repair some areas. Perhaps a piece that temporarily patches the paradox'd areas around you, but needs to be charged so cannot run infinitely.

As I have recently talked about in the difficulty forums....I have an idea for stackalbe NG+ stuff...and it is as follows.

When starting the game (on normal if there is a choice) the games D level (difficulty) is at a whopping 0...beat the game, and it moves up to D level 1 for NG+. Beat it again D level 2...and so on until Bodie decides to cap it. I have also talked A LOT about how this effects things and a hard mode in the difficulty thread....but I don't want copy paste stuff cause it looks like I'm just trying to get noticed. Head over there if you want to read it.

Oh, the familiar mode thing when you pass it. I see. I'm thinking of some Zelda NES second quest stuff, with new collectibles to find. I haven't passed any of my games again in a while. Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 invited a second playing of it into a new changed game. And I didn't use it's danger room discs thing to unlock more costumes, or more achievements. And I didn't find all of the runes to unlock Thor I think too, but I unlocked Jean Grey during the game. Maybe Timespinner can have like runes in it, but new ones after you pass it to unlock more different characters. Or like the Mkraan crystals. Now that'll make people want to pass it again!! All games too!! :D

That sounds rather interesting. I hadn't thought about the idea of paradoxes.

Comparing back to Chrono Trigger, what made it plausible, was the destruction of the means of going back in time, and thus having to do everything over again, in order to reacquire the means to fix something at the very end.

It could be that a new game plus in Timespinner occurs, precisely because the player chooses to destroy it, which weakens the final boss, but leaves something unfinished. What was nice about Chrono Trigger, is that once the new game plus feature was unlocked, you could play the game without having to unlock it again, but still retain it's use, and if you didn't know it was unlockable in the first place, you might never know.
