I'd like to see a bit too about how the pieces effect the world around them as well. outside of just what perks it gives Lunais.

Hey, that's a neat idea. You come upon a strange, warped landscape... a damaged chunk of the Timespinner is mangling space-time all around it, with unpredictable effects. I like it!

These are fun ideas! We're definitely going to be playing around with special things that happen around the pieces of the Timespinner. I like what you guys have thought of :D

i was also thinking the back slide that was shown by man vs game, could be a time power, where you revert movement back 2 or 3 seconds

I'm thinking that Lunais's powers could evolve at some part of the game like in a comic with a split scene in animation, and that the game tells you what keys to press, but in memory too with it accessed from the start button like in Star Wars Unleashed!! Maybe it'll be her luck power. Or agility like a cat. Or teleportation like Deadpool, or Blink in X-Men!!

Some kind of dash with a funky way to cancel it and do it again quickly (yes, like shield-dashing). I do love those.

I have an idea. How about certain areas have multiple time periods you can visit them in (perhaps like in Chrono Trigger or in Zelda: Oracle of Ages), but you need to collect a special Time Piece from that region in specific to go to that time.

It could make for a neat boss, you find him, half wounded, he shouts and curses you for things you have done, that you yourself have not yet done. When he is defeated, he drops or enables access to the Time Piece, to bring you back in time to fight him in the past, when he first met you.
Those who tell you who to love, are the ones who do not deserve it.

On the topic of abilities, how about one that increases the rate at which you regain health for a limited period of time? Similar to MP regeneration in Portrait of Ruin, but requires MP to activate.
